Executive Order deferring FICA taxes

A few weeks ago, the email below was sent out to notify staff about the Executive Order signed by the President on August 8th. Based on further direction issued by the Department of Treasury late last month, the Crisis Management Team has had an opportunity to discuss the payroll tax deferral.

Attached is an official memo to communicate the decision made for Christian Family Care paychecks re: the payroll tax deferral. In summary, Christian Family Care as an employer will not “opt in” to the payroll tax deferral. Because the funds have to be paid back in the first four months of 2021, it was determined that the risk was too great for our staff and the organization. Please take a moment to read through the memo HERE and feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
