COVID Update: In-Office Mask and Safety Guidelines 5/21/21

Hello CFC team –

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, CFC has been committed to keeping staff and clients safe by following CDC recommendations and local ordinances. Last week, the CDC issued an update that “fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local… laws, rules, and regulations.” Since that guidance was released from the CDC, Arizona local and city councils where Christian Family Care operates have amended or repealed mask mandates. Yesterday afternoon, the City of Phoenix voted unanimously to amend its mask mandate in alignment with CDC guidelines.

In accordance with these recent changes, all Christian Family Care locations are thus amending mask guidelines to better align with recommendations by the CDC.

  • IMPORTANT: In healthcare settings, the CDC is still recommending masks and physical distancing for maximum patient/client safety. CFC counseling clients will gradually return to in-office sessions with our counselors, thus, masks are still mandated in the Phoenix lobby or anywhere where counseling clients are waiting. Please also ensure physical distancing when around clients.
  • In all other areas, employees who feel more comfortable wearing a mask are still encouraged to wear one.
  • All in-person activities can resume to pre-COVID levels, with a few reminders:
    • Continue to follow good preventative practices: washing hands frequently, using hand sanitizer, and staying home when sick.
    • If you are not comfortable with spacing in meetings, you should speak directly with your supervisor or with whomever is hosting the meeting/event. Space should be made to accommodate individuals who would like more physical distancing.
    • As stated, staff should NOT come to the office if they are feeling sick or unwell. CFC leaders should ensure that staff, volunteers, and interns are not at CFC offices/locations while sick.
    • Any CFC team member who tests positive for COVID-19 should be following quarantine recommendations according to the CDC.

The COVID-19 vaccine is now readily available in the state of Arizona for individuals 12 and older. If you would like to schedule an appointment for your vaccination, you can find more information here at the AZ Department of Health Services.

If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to Staff Care Manager, Lorina Soza.  Thank you all for doing your part in keeping each other safe!
