COVID-19 Crisis Management Team Update 3/16/20

Dear CFC Staff & Volunteers,

As promised, here is our update as concern for the current COVID-19 outbreak grows. We are doing our best to keep you, our staff, healthy and safe while also providing quality services to keep community children and families safe. This is a fluid situation and recommendations from government agencies are changing rapidly. We want you to rest assured that we are doing our best to sift through the information to make the best decisions for everyone’s protection.

As of Monday, March 16th, 2020, the CFC Crisis Management Team has made the decision to keep all three of our offices open so that you may conduct regular business in your workspace. We are also offering the alternative option of working remotely with approval from your direct supervisor.  Because of our contractual obligations to keep children and families safe, your leadership team will be required to maintain an essential workforce, so any changes to your workflow must be discussed with your supervisor.

If you are feeling sick, even if the symptoms are mild, please protect others by staying home. Additionally, if you have underlying health risks that put you at higher risk for contracting COVID-19, we ask that you protect yourself and stay home.

To cut down on human-to-human contact and follow the guidelines released by the CDC, the Annual Staff Picnic is cancelled. The Prescott Office Open House will also be rescheduled. All meetings with more than 10 people in attendance will need to be held virtually through the Microsoft Teams platform.

We understand all Arizona schools are closed, leaving many of you scrambling to find childcare for your children. In this case, you are eligible to use your sick time and vacation time to alleviate that inconvenience. If you choose to work remotely during this time, please ensure that you are complying with the telecommuting policy outlined in the employee handbook on Ten:24. If you are unable to work, we encourage you to enjoy this time with your family.

We continue to monitor communications from the Governor’s Office, the Arizona Department of Health Services, the Department of Child Safety, and Behavioral Health Services to follow recommendations that will protect you and the health of the children and families we serve. We are exploring alternative ways to continue services while limiting face to face contact. We will update you with any changes as they occur. For now, we are business as usual with our contracted work and the direct services that we provide. Team members are working to create regular communication to our clients and provide them with updates on how any potential changes may impact them.

If you volunteer with Christian Family Care in our offices, or our Thrift Stores, we value you and your heart to serve. We care for your health and understand if you are unable to volunteer due to the recent outbreak. If you would like to continue volunteering your time and talents, please be in touch with your volunteer supervisor about project assignments.

Please know that in all our offices and thrift stores we are instituting protective measures to protect staff, clients, and thrift store customers. You can help us by doing your best to practice healthy living to protect one another. Guidelines for hand washing, symptom tracking and how you can keep you and your family safe can be found online at CDC.gov. We will also be posting a daily log of updates here on the TEN:24. We encourage you to check there for information regarding workplace changes and helpful links.

We know that the God of the Universe has us in his hands and we trust in him to help us through this time. If you have concerns, or would like to pray with someone, please contact a member of the management team.

Thank you,

Your Crisis Management Team

(Mark, Pam, Doug, Jenifer, Gary, Lorina)
