Here are a few updates for you as we finish up our work weeks:
Governor’s Update
As mentioned in my email on Wednesday, Governor Ducey conducted a press conference in the afternoon to let Arizonans know if the Executive Order, Stay Home, Stay Healthy, Stay Connected, would be extended (with or without modifications) or allowed to expire. We heard from the governor that the Executive Order would be extended (with some modifications) through May 15, 2020. Modifications noted are that elective surgeries are able to resume starting today, May 1st, and that retailers may, on a voluntary basis, resume modified operations starting on May 4th. As we look ahead to when more businesses will start opening, Governor Ducey stated that reopening will be “gradual and phased in”.
Thrift Stores
Continue to lift up our thrift store teams in prayer as they transition towards regular operations. Kristi is still working hard and getting things ready for a June 1st opening at the new Tucson Thrift Store location, and Leonard will be reopening the Phoenix Thrift Store next Monday, May 4th. As the Phoenix Thrift Store welcomes back customers, modifications will be put in place to promote the health and safety of all involved. The number of customers in the store will be monitored and limited, a plexiglass barrier will be installed at the cash register, markings will be put down to indicate proper physical distancing, and hand sanitizer will be made available for those inside the store. For now, all First Saturday sales will be paused so as not to encourage large crowds in the store.
OneTeam Reunited Task Force
As we look ahead and slowly start to see more employees back in the offices, the task force is committed to discussing items pertaining to the safety and welfare of employees, clients, and visitors. A document of In-Office Guidelines is being developed and will be communicated upon finalization. For work conducted outside of the office, the Program teams are working in conjunction with DCS to get updates out over the next few weeks.
