Coronavirus Update & CFC

MARCH 13, 2020

Happy, Friday! I want you to know that we care about you, your health and the health of your family, so I have a couple of updates for you.

  • Starting Monday, we will be providing regular updates on the impact on the (COVID-19) and its impact on the health of CFC team members.
  • A point of praise – As of today, no team members have reported exposure to the virus.
  • In Arizona, there have been 9 cases of the virus reported, none in the last 3 days, and no deaths.
  • We are in touch with the Governor’s Office, the Department of Child Safety and will take necessary actions to comply with recommendations to protect your health and the health of the children and families we serve.

For your benefit and the benefit of all other team members and the children and families we serve we encourage you to follow the health guidelines put out by the CDC. You can find more at www.CDC.gov

On a personal note. It is certain that the outbreak of COVID-19 is creating anxiety in our schools and workplaces throughout Arizona. I have learned that anxiety is a thief – it steals our joy and our health. As Christians we have a promise from God that our very lives are in his hands. It is why we are so successful in the work we do at CFC, because we can be confident in giving this hope to others. Think about these truths given to us by God, “Fear not for I am with you…” “Be anxious for nothing…” We all know from our daily work how fear and anxiety destroy life. I encourage you to silence the noise around you, and do not allow the responses from people with no hope rob the joy of living from you.

We will do our best to protect you, as I hope you will do your best to practice healthy living to protect one another. I want to encourage you to talk to someone on the management team if you have any concerns, or you would like someone to pray with you. And, I would encourage you to meditate on the Psalms and observe how deeply God cares for his children and does not desire harm to come to those who trust in him.

As OneTeam let’s work together and trust God has us in his hands and we have no cause to fear for God is with us! We do not know all the impacts this virus will have, but we will do our best to keep you informed.

P.S.

I want to assure you that the management team of CFC has been diligent to keep CFC positioned financially to help us weather through storms like we are facing now with the unknown impact of COVID-19. God has provided abundantly for CFC and we take seriously stewarding the resources God gives us in order to be able to carry on the work he has called us to do. Jenifer reported, as of the end of February, our net operating income is positive $175,000 to budget in addition to the reserves we have set aside.

Enjoy your weekend and stay healthy!
